I found myself being so thankful this morning that Christ is the answer for a relationship with God. I would be so frustrated living every day wondering if I was going to be in Heaven with God, wondering what must I do. My self-doubt about who I am and what I do would create so much anxiety in my life, that I am not sure how I would function.
The peace of knowing that I don’t have to worry about what is going to have to happen at my death is a gift of God. It surpasses everything that I know (Eph. 3:19) and my relationship with God is love relationship through Jesus Christ.
I really liked today’s first question “how would you like it to end?” which is speaking about when my life is longer here on earth. (Phil. 1:23-24) My desire is that at my funeral that 2 Timothy 4:7 could be said about how I lived my life. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.”
I’m not sure where you stand, but I want my joy, peace, and suffering to come from a life that is centered upon Christ and not on myself or the thief.
Blessings,
Adam

I am the Gate - John 10:9
It's been 4 days of doing devotional and i've loved every word of it! I love these words " the Thief only offers an empty promise, a promise that can never satisfy. Jesus came so that we can have life and have it more abundantly".
What always amazes me is that even though we know that the words of Christ are true, we will believe the promises of the thief and walk away from Christ. With so many warnings of not too follow from scripture, friends, family, and with the Spirit convicting us through our conscience to stay with Christ. The lure of the false promises become so tempting that we walk away from the safety. It's not even that they are the best lies, but with the belief that there is always something better out there than Christ we walk away and sin. So when you "do what you feel" or you "stay true to yourself" and walk away from Christ. You walk away from the safety that God has promised us.
So as you are lured away from the Christ, stop and think if the decision that you are making is taking you away from the safety of Christ or closer to Christ. Take a few minutes and read James 4:8
Blessings,
Adam
